False abuse allegations are one of the ugliest and most destructive things that can happen to a family. If you are in the middle of a custody battle, have a sadistic alienator in your life, or just make someone mad that has a vengeful streak a mile wide this page is for you.

So you've been informed that CPS/DCF is "investigating" these false allegations against you or your loved one and it left you cold inside. Well, you're not alone. The potential for abuse of power during this "investigation" is great and the potential losses are even greater.

This "investigation" is supposed to be a "civil" matter. First of all there is never anything civil about this type of "investigation". CPS/DCF workers have been known to "interview" coworkers, bosses, neighbors, church members, ministers, therapists, doctors, members of organizations that you are associated with, friends, family, and even your worst enemy if they will talk to them. Anything these people say can be manipulated and used as evidence against you. Doesn't sound very "Civil" to me.

They can also "visit" your child at his/her school and "interview" him/her. Your child is pulled from class; often they are taken to the principal's office and exposed to lies about you. Your child misses valuable instruction time to hear these lies and be questioned about every aspect of his/her family life. This happens without the parent's knowledge or consent. No type of record is kept of your child's responses except the CPS/DCF workers' notes.

Then they can take all of this "evidence" and have criminal charges pressed against you.

There is also the problem repeated false allegations. These allegations lead to new "investigations" where CPS/DCF contacts coworkers, bosses, neighbors, church members, ministers, therapists, doctors, members of organizations that you are associated with, friends, family, and even your worst enemy to "interview" them again. They will repeatedly pull your child out of class over these false allegations as well.

There have been reports of children being traumatized by these repeat "interviews".

If you or your loved one are dealing with this type of situation or if you have been contacted by CPS/DCF please visit the American Family Rights Association's Website.
